The Best Anti Frizz Hair Products

Best Creams, Serums, Shampoos, Conditioners
and Hair Dryers for Frizz

It has been a steamy summer here, and it made me think of what the best anti frizz hair care products were that I’ve used over the years. We are lucky that we have some of the most advanced frizz fighting technology available today.

When it comes to smoothing the hair and locking out frizz-causing humidity, there are a number of products that we have to choose from today. It is no longer just the serums, sprays and creams of yesteryear. Our whole regimen can incorporate anti frizz ingredients such as tiny silicone polymers and moisturizing agents.

One of the most important aspects of keeping hair smooth is to keep it moisturized. Dry hair is the number one problem for those that constantly battle with the frizzies. One of the best anti frizz hair products I use in the shower, before I load up on the cream or serum of choice before styling, is the Herbal Essences Hello Hydration line of shampoo and conditioner.

This line totally fills your hair with moisture, so there is less room for frizz to get into the cuticle and expand the individual hairs, which creates a frizzy look.

Also, Frederic Fekkai has a wonderful line for smoothing the hair and for caring for chemically treated dried out hair. Technician products by Frederic Fekkai are excellent at keeping frizz at bay, but they are expensive.

His products are available for a discount online many times, and also I know I’ve seen them now in Target, and I think even Wal-mart, although disappointingly they’re not any cheaper than you can buy them online. After the shower, you can also use the olive-oil based anti frizz and hair smoother product Brilliant Glossing Cream or his new Coiff Perfecteur anti frizz product.

Now, for the best new anti frizz product I have tried. You may have heard some buzz over this one, because it uses an advanced technology that uses the tiniest encapsulated spheres of silicone available. The good thing about this is that it can more easily penetrate the hair instead of sitting on it and making it look dull after a day or two.

It also does not weigh the hair down as much as a lot of the other typical heavy silicone serums, creams and sprays. It is expensive, but I’ve found a little goes a long way, and I am able to mix if with my other creams that moisturize and condition and it still works, so I save on using a ton of product.

This new frizz smoothing product is called No Frizz by a company called Living Proof. The price for a 4 ounce bottle of the cream is anywhere from $22-$24, depending on where you find it. Here is where I was able to find it cheapest and the most selection of products.

I actually like to use this anti frizz cream mixed with a moisturizing and styling cream, because I’ve found that using it alone does take away the frizz, but it tends to make my hair look lifeless with little movement. It works best when I combine it with a conditioning and styling cream, like Aveda’s Universal Styling Cream or similar products that contain conditioners and stylers.

Now, to get the smoothest and most frizz resistant hair, you also need to consider the type of hair dryer you are using. If you are using a regular, high heat dryer, then you are probably unknowingly adding to your frizzy woes.

It is a great investment to buy a good ionic, smoothing and frizz fighting dryer like the FHI nano or a Sedu hair dryer, or any other of the number of salon quality ceramic ionic dryers on the market. They may seem expensive at first, but they are well worth the smoother, less damaging results you get.

I have also found that for my hair, it is best to let it air dry just for about ten minutes before I use the dryer. This way, I’m not exposing my hair to too much heat. As I said before, the key to battling frizz is to make sure your hair is well moisturized at all times.

Doing this and making sure you are also using the best anti frizz hair products like shampoos, serums and creams – and hair dryers – will ensure that your hair stays a lot more smoothed down in even the harshest of humidity.
